Natalie Abraham-Syriac joined the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago in October 2004 as an Examiner I in the Policy and Support Unit of the Financial Institutions Supervision Department.

In her previous position as Examiner, she was responsible for conducting research on emerging issues as regards the supervision and regulation of financial institutions internationally and drafting new policies for implementation locally.

In February 2006, she was seconded to the Office of the Financial Services Ombudsman to serve as a Resolution Officer, working alongside the Ombudsman to mediate in insurance disputes. In 2008, her portfolio was expanded to include responsibility for banking complaints.

Prior to joining the Central Bank, Ms. Abraham-Syriac worked in the financial services sector, at a local insurance company where her duties involved claims handling and customer service.
