Selwyn Trim has been involved in finance and banking for thirty-four (34) years. He joined the Central Bank in 1983 and worked in many of the departments, including Foreign Exchange, Banking Operations, Exchange Control and Bank Inspection.

As an assistant to the Inspector of Banks, he conducted examinations of financial institutions for approximately ten years. He was assigned to the Insurance Supervision Unit and attended many training courses relating to insurance and pension operations.

He was a Senior Examiner in the Market Conduct Unit of the Policy and Support Division of the Financial Institutions Supervision Department with responsibility for:

1. The registration of intermediaries in the insurance industry;

2. Monitoring of the conduct of insurers and their intermediaries in the insurance industry; and

3. Handling of complaints from insurance policyholders and other members of the public

In May 2005 he was seconded to the Office of the Financial Services Ombudsman and in 2008 he was appointed Assistant Manager of the Ombudsman’s Office.
